A characterization of dominant local Fitting classes
A Fitting class \(\mathcal F\) is called dominant in the class \(\mathcal S\) of all finite soluble groups if \(\mathcal F\subseteq\mathcal S\) and for every group \(G\in\mathcal S\) any two \(\mathcal F\)-maximal subgroups of \(G\) containing the \(\mathcal F\)-radical \(G_{\mathcal F}\) are conjugated in \(G\).

Local Fitting sets and the injectors of a finite group
The product F ◊ X of the Fitting set F of a group G and the Fitting class X is called the set of subgroups {H ≤ G: H/HF ∈ X}. Let P be the set of all primes, ∅ ≠ π ⊆ P, π′ = P\π and Eπ′ denote the class of all π′-groups.

Illuminating Youth: Decades of Mid-infrared Variability and Color Evolution of Young Stellar Objects
The variability of young stellar objects (YSOs) is a crucial tool for understanding the mechanisms driving flux changes. In this study, we present an infrared variability analysis of a large sample of over 20,000 candidate YSOs, using data from the ...

Version 8 IMK/IAA MIPAS measurements of CFC-11, CFC-12, and HCFC-22 [PDF]
The Michelson Interferometer for Passive Atmospheric Sounding (MIPAS) on Envisat provided infrared limb emission spectra, which were used to infer global distributions of CFC-11, CFC-12, and HCFC-22.

Univalent Functions Formulated by the Salagean-Difference Operator
We present a class of univalent functions Tm(κ, α) formulated by a new differential-difference operator in the open unit disk. The operator is a generalization of the well known Salagean’s differential operator.

ESTIMATING SOIL PARTICLE-SIZE DISTRIBUTION FOR SICILIAN SOILS
The soil particle-size distribution (PSD) is commonly used for soil classification and for estimating soil behavior. An accurate mathematical representation of the PSD is required to estimate soil hydraulic properties and to compare texture measurements ...
