Error bound for radial basis interpolation in terms of a growth function [PDF]
We suggest an improvement of Wu-Schaback local error bound for radial basis interpolation by using a polynomial growth function. The new bound is valid without any assumptions about the density of the interpolation centers.

Fitness Landscapes of Functional RNAs [PDF]
The notion of fitness landscapes, a map between genotype and fitness, was proposed more than 80 years ago. For most of this time data was only available for a few alleles, and thus we had only a restricted view of the whole fitness landscape. Recently, advances in genetics and molecular biology allow a more detailed view of them.

On the Easiest and Hardest Fitness Functions [PDF]
The hardness of fitness functions is an important research topic in the field of evolutionary computation. In theory, the study can help understanding the ability of evolutionary algorithms. In practice, the study may provide a guideline to the design of benchmarks.

Scattered data fitting on surfaces using projected Powell-Sabin splines [PDF]
We present C1 methods for either interpolating data or for fitting scattered data associated with a smooth function on a two-dimensional smooth manifold Ω embedded into R3. The methods are based on a local bivariate Powell-Sabin interpolation scheme, and

Fitting Nonlinear Equations with the Levenberg–Marquardt Method on Google Earth Engine
Google Earth Engine (GEE) has been widely used to process geospatial data in recent years. Although the current GEE platform includes functions for fitting linear regression models, it does not have the function to fit nonlinear models, limiting the GEE ...

Ωζ-foliated Fitting Classes [PDF]
All groups under consideration are assumed to be finite. For a nonempty subclass of Ω of the class of all simple groups I and the partition ζ = {ζi | i ∈ I}, where ζi is a nonempty subclass of the class I, I = ∪i∈I ζi and ζi ∩ ζj = ø for all i ≠ j, ΩζR ...
