Hybrid five-level T-type inverter

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
Multilevel inverters have proven to be a solid technology in electrical drive applications. A new voltage source multilevel converter topology, that is a hybrid between three-level flying capacitor and T-type inverters, is introduced. The proposed topology can produce live output voltage levels.

Parallel-connected five-level PWM inverters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2003
Multilevel PWM inverters have significant advantages over the conventional one because of the capability of operating the motor with nearly sinusoidal current waveforms and higher output voltages. In order to increase the power rating of the inverter, connection in parallel would be effective in the present case.

A Five-Level Boosting Inverter for PV Application

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2021
Transformerless inverters (TIs) are widely used in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) applications due to their higher efficiency and low cost. However, the absence of galvanic isolation leads to the flow of ground leakage current due to PV parasitics resulting in safety issues and deteriorated power quality.

Single-phase five-level buck-boost inverter

2017 20th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2017
This paper proposes a single-phase five-level buck-boost inverter with a combination of Z-source network and T-type inverter. The proposed inverter has the following advantages as reducing a number of switches, buck-boost voltage with single-stage conversion and shoot-through immunity.

A novel three-phase five-level inverter

2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016
In this paper, a novel three-phase five-level inverter is proposed. The proposed topology constructed of 12 power switches and 12 diodes to achieve a three-phase five-level AC Y-connected output. The output line-to-line voltage is five levels and total harmonic distortion is lower.

Control Methods for Five Level Inverter

2019 15th International Conference on Engineering of Modern Electric Systems (EMES), 2019
In this paper are presented two control methods for single-phase five level inverter: staircase modulation (SM) and pulse width modulation (PWM). In both cases the switching sequences have been chosen so that the number of semiconductor devices which switch at a certain time to be minimal. For the PWM modulation, it has been studied how the arrangement

Five-level inverter using POD PWM technique

2015 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, Signals, Communication and Optimization (EESCO), 2015
This paper explains the implementation of single phase 5 level inverter with Dc link Switches based on POD technique. The proposed multi level inverter is capable of generating 5 level output with less component count. This technique uses single carrier wave and two sine waves for pulse generation.

Five-level GTO inverters for large induction motor drives

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1994
The development of large induction motor drives with low torque ripple and fast dynamic response for new or retrofit applications has been limited by the device ratings and problems of series connections. This paper investigates the use of a five-level GTO voltage-sourced inverter for large induction motor drives.

Three-phase, Five-level Multi-level Inverter Topology

Electric Power Components and Systems, 2012
Abstract This article reports a three-phase multilevel inverter topology. The multilevel inverter configuration generates voltage levels similar to the corresponding well-known conventional diode-clamped, flying capacitors and cascaded H-bridge inverters but with fewer power circuit components and simplicity.
