Transient Operation of Fixed Bed Catalytic Reactors
1993The major catalytic processes for the production of bulk chemicals are carried out in fixed bed reactors. This is reliable, proven technology, achieving a high unit production with optimum selectivity for the desired product under safe and clean operating conditions. Steady state operation is considered the natural way of achieving these goals.

Biodiesel Production in Fixed-Bed Monolithic Reactors [PDF]
The production of biodiesel by the transesterification reaction of glycerides (rapeseed oil) with methanol, in a continuous-flow fixed-bed catalytic reactor was explored. Based on data in the literature, lanthanum oxide and strontium oxide (SrO) catalyst systems were selected for this work.
