Complete problems for fixed-point logics

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1995
The notion of logical reducibilities is derived from the idea of interpretations between theories. It was used by Lovász and Gács [LG77] and Immerman [Imm87] to give complete problems for certain complexity classes and hence establish new connections between logical definability and computational complexity. However, the notion is also interesting in a ...

A fuzzy fixed point problem for constraint inequalities

Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2020
In this work, we prove a new fixed point theorem in the setting fuzzy metric spaces. The fuzzy metric space considered here is assumed to have two partial orders defined on it. We introduce a new approach to the existence of a fixed point of a function satisfying the two constraint inequalities.

A problem on common fixed points

Mathematics Seminar Notes, 1983
The author discusses the following problems: (1) Let f and g be selfmappings of a metric space (X,d). What can we say about the existence of common fixed points of f and g if they satisfy \(d(fx,gy)\leq \alpha \max \{d(x,gy),d(y,fx)\}\) for all x,y\(\in X\) and for some \(\alpha\in (0,1)?\) (2) If f and g satisfy any one of the definitions 149, 174 ...

Fixed point problems: an introduction

1996
This paper surveys a number of fundamental results on the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for certain classes of possibly nonlinear operators. I do not try to be exhaustive, but merely to present the results that are more useful in the context of signal and image reconstruction.
