Treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures with 95° fixed-angle blade plate in elderly patients

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, 2010
In this study, we aimed to evaluate the results of treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures fixation with a 95° fixed-angle blade plate in elderly patients. Fifty-eight patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures were treated with 95o fixed-angle blade plate. There were 32 female and 26 male patients.

Proximal Femoral Osteotomy Using the AO Fixed-Angle Blade Plate

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1992
We describe the technique and results of proximal femoral osteotomy performed with the AO fixed-angle blade plate in 157 hips of 101 pediatric patients. Postoperative immobilization or restriction of activity was not prescribed. Fourteen complications occurred in 11 patients. Use of preoperative antibiotics decreased the rate of infection from 12% to 0%

Biomechanical Analysis of Distal Femur Fracture Fixation: Fixed-Angle Screw-Plate Construct Versus Condylar Blade Plate

Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, 2007
The objective of this study is to establish the relative strength of fixation of a locking distal femoral plate compared with the condylar blade plate.Eight matched pairs of fresh-frozen cadaveric femurs were selected and evaluated for bone density. A gap osteotomy model was used to simulate an OTA/AO A3 comminuted distal femur fracture.
