Non-uniform wordlength delay lines for FIR filters

open access: yes, 2009
When FIR filters are designed floating point arithmetic is generally used. However when implemented on hardware such as ASICs, fixed point arithmetic must be used to minimise cost and power requirements.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Does Input Quality Drive Measured Differences in Firm Productivity? [PDF]

open access: yes
Firms in the same industry can differ in measured productivity by multiples of 3. Griliches (1957) suggests one explanation: the quality of inputs differs across firms. We add labor market history variables such as experience and firm and industry tenure,

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Mixed Models and Longitudinal Data

did in the case of the fixed effects model. It follows that the computational procedure and the analysis of variance table are the same as in the fixed effects case, although the conclusions are different since in the random effects case they apply to ...

Investigation of factors affecting annual milk yield of different goat breeds using panel data analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
This study aims to evaluate the effects of basic biological factors such as age and lactation length on milk yield by examining the annual milk yield data of five different goat breeds (Damaskus, Pure Damaskus, Toros, Çukurova, and German Fawn) raised in
