Metaplastic formation of bone and chondroid in flabby ridges

British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1986
The present study was undertaken to demonstrate certain histological characteristics of biopsies from flabby ridges. Our results show that metaplastic formation of bone and chondroid are found in specimens from patients where radiopaque structures were visible on radiographs outside the alveolar ridge.

Five steps to flabby ridge success

British Dental Journal, 2018
Patients presenting with flabby or displaceable tissue continue to challenge even the most competent dental practitioners. Window Technique for Flabby Ridge: A Case Report

Journal of Orofacial & Health Sciences, 2014
Flabby ridge is extremely resilient or mobile alveolar ridge and occurs due to replacement of bone by fibrous tissue. Displaceable, or ‘flabby ridges’, present a particular difficulty and give rise to complaints of looseness or pain relating to a complete denture that rests on them.

A simplified approach for management of flabby ridge

Asian Journal of Oral Health and Allied Sciences
For individuals with “flabby” or “fibrous” alveolar ridges, creating stable and retentive dental prostheses presents substantial challenges. Problems specifically occur when forces cause the movable tissues that support the denture to become deformed during the impression-taking process.

Prosthodontic Management of Maxillary Flabby Ridge - A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Nepalese Prosthodontic Society

A Modified Approach for the Management of Flabby Ridge: A Case Report

International Journal of Health Sciences and Research
Alveolar ridge flaccidity, a common clinical feature, disturbs the mandibular or maxillary ridges. Dentures fixed on these relaxed ridges often experience compromised stability, support and retention necessitating very careful management. This problem predominantly affects the mandibular or maxillary arches alveolar ridges with a heightened ...
