Seismic analysis and design of tunnels within fault ground: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The research methods of seismic response of tunnels within fault ground, including field investigations, analytical solutions, physical experiments, and numerical simulations, and seismic countermeasures are discussed. The present study examines the shortcomings and limitations of the current research and design, and puts forward proposals for future ...

A study of the pro-water pressure for initiation of a large landslide triggered by a strong earthquake based on fluid-structure coupling

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi, 2022
The Daguangbao landslide is the largest co-seismic landslide with a volume of approximately 12×108 m3, which triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake (Ms 8.0) occurred on May 12, 2008.

Upper bound limit analysis of coral reef limestone cavern roof stability incorporating a tension‐shear failure mechanism with tensile‐strength cut‐off

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
For the roof of coral reef limestone caverns, a novel tension‐shear composite failure mechanism was developed. The most critical tensile crack model was identified using a hybrid optimization algorithm, and the stability of the cavern roof was analyzed accordingly.

Seismicity triggered by fluid injection–induced aseismic slip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Anthropogenic fluid injections are known to induce earthquakes. The mechanisms involved are poorly understood, and our ability to assess the seismic hazard associated with geothermal energy or unconventional hydrocarbon production remains limited.

Research on Deformation Prediction of Small Interval Tunnel Based on Machine Learning and Numerical Simulation

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study leverages machine learning algorithms—specifically artificial neural networks (ANN) and genetic programming (GP)—to forecast and analyze variations in vault settlement measurements during excavation of small interval tunnel. A settlement prediction model was developed and validated through comparative analysis with regression to evaluate the
