Petrol station are areas that have a high level of risk of fire (Major Hazard Accident), which is a large industrial accident with very detrimental consequences, both human life and other material losses. Cases of fire or accidents at gas stations are still common, recorded during 2016-2018 around 120 cases that resulted in losses for both ...

Numerical Modeling of Buried Pipe under Wheel Loads Using FLAC 3D
International Journal of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, 2013A steel pipe is buried at a shallow depth beneath a roadway. The behavior of steel pipe during wheel load was studied in this paper by FLAC 3D. An analysis is needed to evaluate the effect of wheel loading on the road surface deflection and pipe deformation. The top of the pipe is 1.5m beneath the road surface.

Site Response Analysis for a Site with the Dipping Bedrock and Liquefiable Layers Using FLAC 3D
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013To get the precise input motion for seismic analysis of important structures located in liquefiable soil layers, this study demonstrates site response analysis using FLAC 3D [. Based on the previous earthquake diaster experiences and regulatory requirements for nuclear power plants (NPP), the seismic wave propagation in the site having dipping bedrock ...

Analysis of Excavation Effect on Flexible Pressure Pipes Deformation Based on FLAC 3D
ICPTT 2012, 2012Based on the flexible pressure pipe structure calculation theory, by using the FLAC3D finite difference software, this paper analyzed the stress state of the flexible pipe and the rule of the pipe-soil interaction. Through orthogonal test method, the different parameter settings are named, such as the buried depth, excavation depth, excavation distance,

Stability Analysis of Soil Slope Subjected to Blast Induced Vibrations Using FLAC3D
Geo-Congress 2013, 2013In this paper, stability analysis of dry cohesion-less soil slope of height 6m with buried pipeline with effect of blasting is carried out by using numerical method. Stage wise construction of soil slope and installation of concrete pipeline of 0.5m thickness and of 2m diameter is considered while doing numerical modeling using finite difference based ...

Modeling and Simulation for Complex Faults of Large-Scale Underground Caverns Based on FLAC3D
Advances in Transportation Geotechnics and Materials for Sustainable Infrastructure, 2014A new methodology called fault-implied composite element is used to simulate complex geological faults in large-scale underground caverns to solve the difficulty in modeling. In the process of modeling, the rock and soil mass is meshed first without considering the influence of geological faults, then faults are plotted according to their locations and

Dam Phreatic Line Simulation on FLAC3D: A Case Study
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013Based on fundamental principle of saturated/unsaturated flow and characteristic of FLAC3Ds showing pore pressure nephogram, this paper was aimed at obtaining steady seepage within the dam, capturing the face on which pore pressure was equal to zero, and then identified the phreatic line of the dam. Using this method, phreatic line of a tailing dam in a
