Integration and Application of a Fabric-Based Modified Cam-Clay Model in FLAC3D

open access: yesGeosciences
In order to consider the effect of fabric anisotropy in the analysis of geotechnical boundary value problems, this study proposes a modified model based on a fabric-based modified Cam-clay model, which can account for the anisotropic response of soil ...

Comparative 2D Finite Element Analysis of Soil–Cement Block and Column Reinforcements for Deep Excavation Support

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2025.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of soil–cement reinforcement configurations in deep excavations using 2D FEM analysis. It investigates two different approaches to represent soil–cement reinforcement and compares them, showing that blocks reduce lateral deflections by 60%–64% and bending moments by 22% compared to columns.

A New Method for Slope Risk Stability Assessment: Combined Weighting and Improved Cloud Matter‐Element Model

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2025.
In this paper, firstly, based on the principles of scientificity, rationality, representativeness, feasibility, and coefficient of variation, the evaluation index system of slope stability is constructed. Then, the subjective and objective weights of the evaluation indexes are determined by the improved analytic hierarchy process (IAHP) and anti ...

[B6, G1] Flic flac

open access: yes, 2013

Interplay of Freeze‐Thaw Cycles and Avalanche Impact on Glacial Landslide‐Debris Flow Geohazard Chain in the Southeastern Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Southeast Tibet suffers increasing hyper‐mobility cascading geohazards, especially during the warm season. The glacial debris flow on 10 September 2020 in the Zelunglung Basin, transformed from a moraine landslide, exemplifies such geohazards, yet the landslide initiation or evolution process remained obscure.

Spontaneous Initiation and Evolution of Polygonal Fault Systems During the Early Burial of Sediments in 3D Numerical Models

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Polygonal Fault Systems (PFS) or networks were generated in 3D finite‐difference models within the upper (active) layer of two‐layer model. The driving force of this process results from a progressive diagenetically induced volumetric contraction (porosity reduction) of the active layer during its burial.

Slope Stability Analysis of Open Cast Mines Using FLAC 3D

open access: yes, 2017
Slope stability analysis has the most prominent influence in the productivity and longevity of a mine. Instability of slope of open cast mines can lead to enormous damages to man and machinery.
