CT Perfusion Derived rCBV < 42% Lesion Volume Is Independently Associated with Followup FLAIR Infarct Volume in Anterior Circulation Large Vessel Occlusion

open access: yesDiagnostics
Pretreatment CT Perfusion (CTP) parameter rCBV < 42% lesion volume has recently been shown to predict 90-day mRS. In this study, we aim to assess the relationship between rCBV < 42% and a radiographic follow-up infarct volume delineated on FLAIR images ...

A central vein sign in the magnetic resonance diagnosing of multiple sclerosis

open access: yesВестник медицинского института «Реавиз»: Реабилитация, врач и здоровье
Background. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune demyelinating disease, which is characterized by the inevitable disability of patients in the long term, which determines the relevance of this problem.

Visualization of white matter tracts using a non-diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging method: does intravenous gadolinium injection four hours prior to the examination affect the visualization of white matter tracts?

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
ObjectivesVisualization of white matter (WM)-tracts such as the corticospinal tract (CST), medial lemniscus (ML), and superior cerebellar peduncle (SCP) using delayed enhanced (DE)-heavily T2-weighted three-dimensional fluid-attenuated inversion-recovery

Contrast enhanced FLAIR versus contrast enhanced T1W images in evaluation of intraparenchymal brain lesions

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2022
Background Patients with suspected brain lesions are usually evaluated by means of intravenous contrast materials. These lesions may demonstrate enhancement through different mechanisms. At most institutions, CE-T1WI is the preferred sequence. FLAIR is a

Effect of informed consent on patient characteristics in a stroke thrombolysis trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objective: To determine whether the manner of consent, i.e., informed consent by patients themselves or informed consent by proxy, affects clinical characteristics of samples of acute stroke patients enrolled in clinical trials.

Quantifying disease pathology and predicting disease progression in multiple sclerosis with only clinical routine T2-FLAIR MRI

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2021
Highlights • We explored five brain pathology measures from clinical-quality T2-FLAIR MRI in MS.• These included LVV, thalamus volume, MOV, SCLV and network efficiency.• T2-FLAIR measures predicted a majority of the variance in research-quality MRI.• T2 ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Utility of contrast-enhanced 3D STIR FLAIR imaging for evaluating pituitary adenomas at 3 Tesla

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Radiology Open, 2023
Purpose: To assess the usefulness of contrast-enhanced 3D STIR FLAIR imaging for evaluation of pituitary adenomas. Methods: Patients with pituitary adenomas underwent MR examinations including contrast-enhanced 3D STIR FLAIR and 2D T1-weighted (T1W ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Leptomeningeal Enhancement Manifesting as a Treatment- Related Change in Isocitrate Dehydrogenase-Wildtype Glioblastoma Mimicking Leptomeningeal Metastases on Contrast-Enhanced FLAIR MRI: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Society of Radiology
Leptomeningeal metastases in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-wild-type glioblastoma (GBM) is crucial for determining patient prognosis and treatment plans.
