Features of application of the methane-hydrogen fraction as fuel for thermal power plant boiler
The methane-hydrogen fraction is a gaseous hydrocarbon by-product during oil processing for obtaining petroleum products. Until recently, the methane-hydrogen fraction was used as furnace oil in internal technological processes at a refinery. Some of the

Turbulent Chemical Diffusion in Convectively Bounded Carbon Flames [PDF]
It has been proposed that mixing induced by convective overshoot can disrupt the inward propagation of carbon deflagrations in super-asymptotic giant branch stars.

Plasma assisted ammonia combustion: Simultaneous NOx reduction and flame enhancement
This work reports that plasma can simultaneously reduce NOx emission and extend the lean blowoff limits of ammonia flames. The results show dramatic differences from similar work using hydrocarbon fuels in which plasma promoted NOx emission.

Influence of gas compression on flame acceleration in the early stage of burning in tubes
The mechanism of finger flame acceleration at the early stage of burning in tubes was studied experimentally by Clanet and Searby [Combust. Flame 105: 225 (1996)] for slow propane-air flames, and elucidated analytically and computationally by Bychkov et ...

On the dynamics of the collapse of a diffusion-flame hole [PDF]
The collapse dynamics of a diffusion-flame hole in the presence of a counterflow are studied. We construct unsteady solutions of the one-dimensional edge-flame model of Buckmaster (1996), in which heat and mass transverse losses are algebraic.

Curvature and confinement effects for flame speed measurements in laminar spherical and cylindrical flames. [PDF]
This paper discusses methods used to obtain laminar flame speeds in spherical laminar premixed flames. Most recent studies express the laminar flame consumption speed as ρb/ρudR/dt, where R is the flame radius and ρb/ρu is the ratio of the burnt to the ...

Human development and disaster mortality: evidence from India
Natural disasters present substantial dangers to both human life and physical infrastructure. Although the human development index (HDI) is recognized for its pivotal role in mitigating mortality resulting from natural disasters, the exact extent of its ...

Flame retardancy and mechanical properties of poegmah compatibilized rice husk filled polypropylene composites [PDF]
Flammability of Polypropylene, PP has restricted its usage as a versatile synthetic polymer. The addition of flame retardants will lower the flammability of PP. However, it will lower the mechanical properties.
