Flammability of Facades Across Scales and International Standards

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Facade fires are a rare but destructive hazard that can lead to the rapid spread of fire between the floors and fire compartments of a building. Today, there are at least 21 different national standards for facade fire tests in use around the world, which seek to categorize facades based on their flammability.

Flame length of buoyant turbulent slot flame

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2019
Abstract This work presents a modeling and experimental analysis on the flame length of buoyant turbulent slot diffusion flame. An approximate predictive correlation of flame length is derived based on the governing equations. The role of initial momentum and buoyancy on flame length is quantitatively described by a modified Froude number Frm.

An investigation of the detailed flame shape and flame length under the ceiling of a channel

Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2015
Abstract This paper presents an experimental investigation on the flame shape and length under the ceiling of a channel, and altogether 48 experiments with four experimental setups were performed. The experimental setups include fires in the open space, flush with a wall without ceiling, at the longitudinal centerline of a channel and flush with the ...
