Combustion Characteristics of a Supersonic Combustor with a Large Cavity Length-to-Depth Ratio

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
The combustion characteristics of a hydrogen-fueled supersonic combustor featuring a large cavity length-to-depth ratio (i.e., 11) were examined by performing experimental trials while varying the fuel injector positions and equivalence ratios.

Development of the premixing injector in burner system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The alternative fuel is good attention especially for renewable and prevention energy such as biodiesel. Biodiesel fuel (BDF) has a potential for external combustion. BDF is one of the hydrocarbon fuels.

Local burning velocity in a Bunsen jet flame [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A PIV-based system has been set-up for the simultaneous measurement of the local burning velocity of premixed flames and the flame stretch due to the flame front curvature and the incoming flow strain rate.

Mimicking Block Copolymer Self‐Assembly with One‐Pot Synthesized Polyphosphoester Gradient Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.

Sensitivity to the Representation of Wind for Wildfire Rate of Spread: Case Studies with the Community Fire Behavior Model

open access: yesFire
Accurate wildfire spread modeling critically depends on the representation of wind dynamics, which vary with terrain, land cover characteristics, and height above ground. Many fire spread models are often coupled with coarse atmospheric grids that cannot

Experimental and numerical study of the accuracy of flame-speed measurements for methane/air combustion in a slot burner [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Measuring the velocities of premixed laminar flames with precision remains a controversial issue in the combustion community. This paper studies the accuracy of such measurements in two-dimensional slot burners and shows that while methane/air flame ...

Solvent‐Free Manufacturing of Multifunctional Gas Diffusion Electrode Architectures for Enhanced CO2 Conversion From Low‐Concentration Streams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A tandem gas diffusion electrode (GDE) leveraging hierarchically engineered microgranules enables efficient CO2 electroreduction under dilute CO2 conditions. A key innovation lies in the solvent‐free precision assembly of metal–organic‐frameworks, carbon nanotubes, and copper nanoparticles.

A Comparison of Flame Spread Characteristics over Solids in Concurrent Flow Using Two Different Pyrolysis Models

open access: yesJournal of Combustion, 2011
Two solid pyrolysis models are employed in a concurrent-flow flame spread model to compare the flame structure and spreading characteristics. The first is a zeroth-order surface pyrolysis, and the second is a first-order in-depth pyrolysis.

Instabilities and soot formation in high-pressure, rich, iso-octane-air explosion flames - 1. Dynamical structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Simultaneous OH planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) and Rayleigh scattering measurements have been performed on 2-bar rich iso-octane–air explosion flames obtained in the optically accessible Leeds combustion bomb.
