Measurement of turbulent flame speed of natural gas/air mixtures at elevated pressure [PDF]
Turbulent flame speeds were measured over a range of pressures to 0.8 MPa using a jet flow apparatus fired with a synthetic mixture representing a mid-European natural gas. The equivalence ratio empty set was 0.9.

The “turbulent flame speed” of wrinkled premixed flames
The determination of the turbulent flame speed is a central problem in combustion theory. Early studies by Damköhler and Shelkin resorted to geometrical and scaling arguments to deduce expressions for the turbulent flame speed and its dependence on turbulence intensity.

Experimental study on premixed flame acceleration in closed pipe [PDF]
An experimental study has been carried out to investigate the flame acceleration in closed pipe. A horizontal steel pipe, with 2 m long and 0.1 m diameter, giving length to diameter (L/D) ratio of 20 was used in this project.

Influence of Local Accumulation of Polyethylene Dust Cloud on Flame Propagation
The flame propagation characteristic of polyethylene dust cloud inside a semi-open tube is studied in virtue of high-speed photographing technology. The rules of the influence of initial distribution range of polyethylene dust cloud on flame speed and ...

An experimental study on flame geometry in wind-blown pool fires and a new dimensionless parameter
In order to study the relationship between wind speed and such combustion characteristics as pool fire flame length, tilt angle, combustion mass loss rate and heat release rate, a small round diesel pool fire with wind-blown experimental platform was ...

On the determination of laminar flame speeds from stretched flames [PDF]
The effects of stretch on the determination of the laminar flame speed are experimentally studied by using the positively-stretched stagnation flame and negatively-stretched bunsen flame, and by using lean and rich mixtures of methane, propane, butane, and hydrogen with air whose effective Lewis numbers are either greater or less than unity.

The Supposed Law of Flame Speeds [PDF]
MR. A. G. WHITE, in his letter in NATURE of Jan. 8, p. 51, correctly recalls the fact, which we discussed fully in our original publications in theJournal of the Chemical Society, that deviations from the law of speeds may be expected if one of the combustible gases in a complex mixture interferes with the burning of another.

A review of the research progress of ammonia combustion enhancement technology
Under the guidance of the "double carbon strategy", as a new type of zero-carbon fuel, ammonia has gradually attracted attention. To solve the issues of ignition, low flame speed, and narrow flammable range of ammonia combustion, from the basic ...
