Effect of a transition in a species fraction of fuel on the behaviour of a premixed flame

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
Flame height variations of a laminar stagnating premixed flame with gas component transition between fuel mixture A (methane:92%, ethane:6.7%, propane:1.3%) and B(methane:84%, ethane:13.3%, propane:2.7%), and between A and C (methane:76%, ethane:20.0 ...

The Interaction between In-Cylinder Turbulent Flow and Flame Front Propagation in an Optical SI Engine Measured by High-Speed PIV

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The relationship between the flow field and flame propagation is essential in determining the dynamics and effects of turbulent flow in an optical SI engine.

Scaling of turbulent flame speed for expanding flames with Markstein diffusion considerations [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2013
In this paper we clarify the role of Markstein diffusivity, which is the product of the planar laminar flame speed and the Markstein length, on the turbulent flame speed and its scaling, based on experimental measurements on constant-pressure expanding turbulent flames.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Study on the propagation velocity of methane/air pleated flames based on image processing and fractal interpolation

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
A self-developed gas explosion experimental system was used to detonate methane/air mixtures of different concentrations by different ignition methods, and the propagation processes of spherical flames and irregular flames formed by the explosions were ...

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Flame propagation behavior of propane–air premixed combustion in a confined space with two perforated plates at different initial pressures

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2022
The aim of this paper is to analyze local autoignition induced by secondary flame acceleration. The secondary flame acceleration process and the local autoignition formation mechanism at the condition of the secondary flame acceleration propagation were ...

Shapes and speeds of steady forced premixed flames [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2014
Steady premixed flames subjected to space-periodic steady forcing are studied via inhomogeneous Michelson-Sivashinsky (MS) and then Burgers equations. For both, the flame slope is posited to comprise contributions from complex poles to locate, and from a base-slope profile chosen in three classes (pairs of cotangents, single-sine functions or sums ...
