Combustion Waves and Flame Stability in Nanocomposites

ACS Nano
Combustion in nanocomposites involves intricate coupling between chemical reactions and transport phenomena across multiple scales and phases, complicating the development of unified theories. In this study, we present a theoretical and experimental framework that can serve as the foundation for a unified theory of combustion wave dynamics and ...

Radiation effects on flame stabilization on flat flame burners

Combustion and Flame, 2012
Abstract This study investigates the impact of radiative heat transfer on the behavior of flat flame burners within the framework of a simplified one-dimensional model. Flat flame burners stabilize planar premixed flames downstream of a porous plug.

On the Stability of Laminar Flame Fronts

Journal of the Aeronautical Sciences, 1952
IN REFERENCES 1, 2, AND 3, the stability of a laminar flame front to two-dimensional disturbances that are time-variable is investigated. In references 1 and 3 the flame front is considered as a discontinuity in velocity, whereas in reference 2 a continuous distribution of velocity in the direction of flow is considered.

A note on flame stability theory

Journal of Engineering Physics, 1966
The stability of normal combustion of a gas mixture with respect to small hydrodynamic perturbations is examined. An explanation is given of the physically contradictory conclusion obtained in [1] regarding the destabilizing influence of viscosity.

The stability of flame holders.

2012
A flame holder is a device placed in a stream of rapidly flowing combustible mixture to anchor the flame and to make burning possible. The flame holder has its most immediate application in the ram Jet fields where counter flows are impractical, and it is desirable that combustion take place at as high a stream velocity as possible.
