This study investigated the flame structure and dynamics of a bluff-body flame when numerically close to blow-off conditions. This includes the impact of the hydrogen ratio on lean CH4/H2/air flame stabilization and blow-off characteristics.

Recent studies within the diffusive-thermal (constant-density) approximation have shown that, for premixed flames freely propagating in narrow adiabatic channels, the instabilities induced by differential diffusion may result in non-symmetric solutions ...

Procalcitonin is a key biomarker for bacterial infections, but conventional detection methods are often time‐consuming. Here, we present an electrochemical sensor based on highly conductive Ti3C2Tx MXene combined with PEDOT:PSS, enabling direct antibody immobilization, while a bovine serum albumin coating provides antifouling protection.

Flame Instability and Transition to Detonation in Supersonic Reactive Flows
Multidimensional numerical simulations of a homogeneous, chemically reactive gas were used to study ignition, flame stability, and deflagration-to-detonation transition (DDT) in a supersonic combustor.

The Thermonuclear Explosion Of Chandrasekhar Mass White Dwarfs [PDF]
The flame born in the deep interior of a white dwarf that becomes a Type Ia supernova is subject to several instabilities. We briefly review these instabilities and the corresponding flame acceleration. We discuss the conditions necessary for each of the

Instantaneous flame-stabilization velocities in lifted-jet diffusion flames
Liftoff height and velocity measurements are presented for turbulent, lifted methane and ethylene flames. A range of Reynolds numbers from 3800 to 22,000 is investigated, and the effect of coflow velocity is examined. The mean liftoff height is shown to increase with jet-exit and coflow velocity, while the rms fluctuation about the mean increases with ...

Although electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy provides atomic‐scale access to electrified interfaces, quantitative in situ and operando investigations suffer from drift‐induced distortions. This work introduces the Lattice Fourier Analyzer (LFA), which employs substrate‐anchored affine drift correction in reciprocal space to recover precise ...

Water‐Stable Paper‐Based Laser‐Induced Graphene With Asymmetric Water Adhesion and Wettability
Paper‐based electronics are attractive for sustainable and disposable devices, but often fail in wet environments. By introducing Parafilm into cellulose paper combined with laser conversion, two graphene surfaces with different water interactions are created.

Experimental investigation of piloted flameholders [PDF]
Four configurations of piloted flameholders were tested. The range of flame stabilization, flame propagation, pressure oscillation during ignition, and pressure drop of the configurations were determined.
