Effect of unsteady stretch rate on OH chemistry during a flame-vortex interaction: To assess flamelet models

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 1995
Some basic assumptions of flamelet models are assessed by comparing profiles of OH mole fraction measured during an unsteady flame-vortex interaction to the OH profiles computed for a steady, planar counterflow flame (SPCF) with full chemistry. It is important to make such comparisons for both the same local three-dimensional stretch rate, which is ...

Aggregation‐Controlled Vat Dyeing of Meta‐Aramid Fibers: Mechanistic Insights and Suppression of Surface Dye Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Supramolecular aggregation governs the interfacial adsorption, diffusion, and fixation of anthraquinone‐based vat dyes in meta‐aramid fibers. By correlating reduction chemistry, aggregate formation, and fiber microstructure, a multiscale mechanism for aggregation‐controlled dyeing is established, providing an effective strategy to suppress surface dye ...

Conformable Ferrimagnetic Tattoo Electrodes for Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The newly developed ferrimagnetic tattoo electrode is capable of measuring plant electrophysiological activity outside the Faraday cage. Its ability to adhere without damaging the plant tissue allows long‐term recordings. This premise opens new avenues for in‐field monitoring of plant health through electrophysiology.

Rapid Room‐Temperature Ethanol Sensing in Bi2MoO6/rGO Heterostructures: Weak Adsorption‐Driven Charge Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work establishes Bi2MoO6/rGO heterostructures as a mechanism‐guided platform for high‐performance room‐temperature ethanol gas detection by showing that modest adsorption, in conjunction with dynamic interfacial band modulation, enables rapid charge‐transfer.

Numerical Study of High-g Combustion Characteristics in a Channel with Backward-Facing Steps

open access: yesAerospace
High gravity (high-g) combustion can significantly increase flame propagation speed, thereby potentially shortening the axial length of aero-engines and increasing their thrust-to-weight ratio.

3D‐Printed Dual‐Doped Ag2Se‐Based Thermoelectric Films With Enhanced Thermal Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Sb–Se dual doping enhances the thermal stability of Ag2Se‐based thermoelectric systems. The compositionally tuned nano‐ink is printed into flexible films by direct ink writing (DIW), retaining improved thermoelectric properties after annealing up to 400°C.

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).
