Model Flames in the Boussinesq Limit: The Effects of Feedback [PDF]
We have studied the fully nonlinear behavior of pre-mixed flames in a gravitationally stratified medium, subject to the Boussinesq approximation. Key results include the establishment of criterion for when such flames propagate as simple planar flames ...

On the dynamics of the collapse of a diffusion-flame hole [PDF]
The collapse dynamics of a diffusion-flame hole in the presence of a counterflow are studied. We construct unsteady solutions of the one-dimensional edge-flame model of Buckmaster (1996), in which heat and mass transverse losses are algebraic.

Schottky photodiode using submicron thick diamond epilayer for flame sensing [PDF]
Abstract The sensing of a flame can be performed by using wide-bandgap semiconductors, which offer a high signal-to-noise ratio since they only response the ultraviolet emission in the flame. Diamond is a robust semiconductor with a wide-bandgap of 5.5 eV, exhibiting an intrinsic solar-blindness for deep-ultraviolet (DUV) detection.

On-Shell Description of Stationary Flames
The problem of non-perturbative description of stationary flames with arbitrary gas expansion is considered. On the basis of the Thomson circulation theorem an implicit integral of the flow equations is constructed.

The Coherent Flame Model for Turbulent Chemical Reactions [PDF]
A description of the turbulent diffusion flame is proposed in which the flame structure is composed of a distribution of laminar diffusion flame elements, whose thickness is small in comparison with the large eddies.

Two solid pyrolysis models are employed in a concurrent-flow flame spread model to compare the flame structure and spreading characteristics. The first is a zeroth-order surface pyrolysis, and the second is a first-order in-depth pyrolysis.
