Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Quantitative assessment method of muzzle flash and smoke at high noise level on field environment

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
It is quite a challenge to obtain the temperature and species concentration fields of muzzle flash at high noise level. In this numerical study, radiation intensity of muzzle flash received by the high-speed Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS)

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Problems Encountered in Fluctuating Flame Temperature Measurements by Thermocouple

open access: yesSensors, 2008
Some thermocouple experiments were carried out in order to obtain sensitivity of thermocouple readings to fluctuations in flames and to determine if the average thermocouple reading was representative of the local volume temperature for fluctuating ...

Effects of the Injector Design on the Transfer Function of Premixed Swirling Flames [PDF]

open access: yesVolume 4A: Combustion, Fuels and Emissions, 2017
This article reports a series of experiments on the dynamics of lean-premixed swirl-stabilized flames submitted to harmonic flowrate modulations. The flame transfer function is analyzed for different injector designs with a specific focus on conditions leading to the lowest heat release rate response for a given flowrate perturbation.

Analytical approximations for heat release rate laws in the time- and frequency-domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper focusses on the relationship between the heat release rate and the acoustic field, which is a crucial element in modelling thermoacoustic instabilities. The aim of the paper is twofold. The first aim is to develop a transformation tool, which
