Flameless “Cool” Combustion in Multi-phase Configuration
AbstractCool flames are commonly associated with engine-knock phenomenon in spark ignition engines and autoignition in diesel engines, and results from low temperature partial oxidation of the fuel air mixture that eventually leads to hot flame ignition.

On mathematical modelling of flameless combustion
Combustion and Flame, 2007A further analysis of the IFRF semi-industrial-scale experiments on flameless (mild) combustion of natural gas is carried out. The experimental burner features a strong oxidizer jet and two weak natural gas jets. Numerous publications have shown the inability of various RANS-based mathematical models to predict the structure of the weak jet.

Characteristics of biomass in flameless combustion: A review
Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2014The demands of energy and pollutant emissions reduction have motivated the combustion researchers to work on combustion improvement. Flameless combustion or high temperature air combustion has many features such as flame stability, low pollutant emission and uniform profiles of temperature compared to the other modes of combustion.

Numerical investigation of biogas flameless combustion
Energy Conversion and Management, 2014Abstract The purpose of this investigation is to analyze combustion characteristics of biogas flameless mode based on clean technology development strategies. A three dimensional (3D) computational fluid dynamic (CFD) study has been performed to illustrate various priorities of biogas flameless combustion compared to the conventional mode.

Flameless combustion for hydrogen containing fuels
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2010Abstract In this paper, flameless combustion was promoted to suppress thermal-NO x formation in the hydrogen-high-containing fuel combustion. The PSRN model was used to model the flameless combustion in the air for four fuels: H 2 /CH 4 60/40% (by volume), H 2 /CH 4 40/60%, H 2 /CH 4 20/80% and pure hydrogen.
