Waste heat recovery of the hydrogen–water mixture from high‐temperature water electrolysis by cascade heat pump for steam generation

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 11, Issue 9, Page 3070-3081, September 2023., 2023
A cascade heat pump is used to absorb latent heat of steam condensation. After twice compressions, the temperature of the working fluid is sufficiently high to vaporize liquid water. The heat pump fully utilizes thermal energy instead of direct electric heating, saving 65% of power consumption. Abstract Waste heat recovery is common in high‐temperature

Review of fire experiments in mass timber compartments: Current understanding, limitations, and research gaps

open access: yesFire and Materials, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 415-432, June 2023., 2023
Abstract The use of mass timber in buildings instead of non‐combustible materials has benefits in sustainability, aesthetics, construction times, and costs. However, the uptake of mass timber in modern construction for medium and high‐rise buildings is currently hindered by uncertainty regarding safety and structural performance in fire.

An Optimization-Based Approach for the Development of a Combustion Chamber for Residential Micro Gas-Turbine Applications

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
In the field of micro gas turbine, attention must be paid on the design of the combustion chamber to reduce NOx formation without compromising combustion efficiency. To this goal flameless combustion represents an appealing solution.

Clean Fuel, Clean Energy Conversion Technology: Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Palm Oil Mill Effluent Biogas Flameless Combustion

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
The combustion of effluent biogas from a palm oil mill is not feasible on a large scale because of its low calorific value (LCV). Therefore, the captured biogas is usually flared because of a lack of appropriate combustion technology.
