Predictions of NO and CO emissions in ammonia/methane/air combustion by LES using a non-adiabatic flamelet generated manifold [PDF]
A large-eddy simulation (LES) employing a non-adiabatic flamelet generated manifold approach, which can account for the effects of heat losses due to radiation and cold walls, is applied to NH3/CH4/air combustion fields generated by a swirl burner, and ...

Development of flamelet generated manifolds for partially-premixed flame simulations [PDF]
Accuracy of simulations of combustion processes does not only depend on a meticulous description of the turbulent flow field, its accuracy and detail depends on the representation of combustion chemistry and its interaction with turbulence as well ...

Application of dense neural networks for manifold-based modeling of flame-wall interactions
Artifical neural networks (ANNs) are universal approximators capable of learning any correlation between arbitrary input data with corresponding outputs, which can also be exploited to represent a low-dimensional chemistry manifold in the field of ...

Flame Aerosol Synthesis of Metal Sulfides at High Temperature in Oxygen‐Lean Atmosphere
As proof‐of‐principle, the preparation of various metal sulfides in a flame process using single‐droplet combustion and enclosed flame spray pyrolysis in O2‐lean condition is demonstrated. Using a large‐tube reactor MnS, CoS, Cu2S, ZnS, Ag2S, In2S3, SnS, and Bi2S3 are formed at a rate of 5 g h−1.

Lean premixed (LPM) combustion processes are of increased interest to the gas turbine industry due to their reduction in harmful emissions. These processes are susceptible to thermoacoustic instabilities, which are produced when energy added by an in‐phase relationship between unsteady heat release and acoustic pressure is greater than energy ...
