The Utility of a Standardized Evaluation Form for Complaints in Patients with Acute Abdominal and Flank Pain

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2016
Aim: In this study, we aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy and cost effectiveness of a first-step evaluation form, which we improved for patients administrated to the emergency department (ED) with non-traumatic acute abdominal and flank pain ...

Existence, regularity and upper semicontinuity of pullback attractors for the evolution process associated to a neural field model

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2017
In this work we study the pullback dynamics of a class of nonlocal non-autonomous evolution equations for neural fields in a bounded smooth domain $\Omega$ in $\mathbb{R}^N$ \[ \begin{cases} \partial_t u(t,x) =- u(t,x) + \displaystyle\int_{\mathbb ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Ovarian Pedicle Local Analgesia in Midline versus Flank Cat Ovariectomy

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science
Objectives The study aimed to assess perioperative pain in cats subjected to ovariectomy, performed with a midline or flank approach, receiving a lidocaine splash on each ovarian pedicle.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Cross-scale identification for friction and wear boundaries of tooth flank of high-feed milling cutter

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
In the milling process, under the high-efficiency and intermittent cutting loads, the instantaneous posture of the milling cutter and the instantaneous cutter-workpiece engagement are in an unstable state.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Determination of Intrinsic Sodium in Grass-Fed Bonsmara (Bos taurus indicus) Meat

open access: yesApplied Sciences
There is a view that grass-fed beef has human health benefits coupled with better quality attributes. Yet, organic sodium in grass-fed beef remains elusive and overlooked in meat processing.

Determining the stress state on the flank surface of a cutting tool

open access: yesТехнічна інженерія, 2022
The work investigates the question of theoretically calculating normal and tangent stresses on the contact area of the flank surface of a cutting tool.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.
