Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

Effect of load flank angle modifications on the structural integrity of buttress threaded connections [PDF]
One of the main requirements of threaded & coupled connections used in oil-producing wells is the ability to resist high tensile loads. In order to ensure integrity under ever-increasing loads, the geometric parameters of the connection can be modified ...

Investigating the performance of TiN and TiAIN coatings on milling cutter used for machining bimetal steel strip [PDF]
Surface engineering of cutting tools (single point or multipoint) through advanced coatings (e.g., TiN) has contributed towards considerable improvement of tool life, productivity and machining quality [1] by modifying the tool substrate.

Validation of flank-to-flank measurements for predicting boar weight
Allometric relationships, in which linear body dimensions are expressed as a function of body weight, are commonly used in growth studies. Previous work at Kansas State University showed a positive correlation between flank-to-flank measurement and sow body weight.

Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

Loss of primary cilia in endothelial cells promotes EndMT and vascular abnormalities in the ovarian tumor microenvironment through EphA2 activation. Using human samples, in vitro models, and endothelial‐specific Kif3a‐knockout mice, we show that primary cilia loss drives the acquisition of cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like phenotypes, thereby ...

Seismic characteristics of sediment drifts: An example from the Agulhas Plateau, southwest Indian Ocean [PDF]
Sediment drifts provide information on the palaeoceanographic development of a region. Additionally, they may represent hydrocarbon reservoirs. Because of this, sediment drift investigation has increased over the last few years. Nevertheless, a number of
