Telecological Collapse: The Inevitability of Climate Breakdown in the Transmedial Podcast Drama Forest 404

open access: yesFuture Humanities, Volume 4, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a close‐hearing analysis of Forest 404, a transmedial audio drama that was released to BBC Sounds in 2019. Despite the drama's eco‐dystopian critique of teleological ‘progress’ narratives (that enable and perpetuate the destruction of the natural world), I argue that the series ultimately propagates a sense of inevitability

Curvy Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This review introduces the concept of “general curvy surface reconstruction,” which incorporates both geometric and physical dimensions, representing an upgrade over conventional geometric reconstruction that focuses solely on spatial relationships. Particular emphasis is placed on the emerging opportunities enabled by advanced measurement techniques ...

Welfare assessment of turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo gallopavo) on farm

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract This Scientific Opinion assesses the welfare of turkeys of all ages (Meleagris gallopavo gallopavo) on farm in relation to the type and condition of the litter, type and availability of enrichment (including covered veranda and outdoor range), space allowance, concentrations of ammonia and carbon dioxide, effective environmental temperature ...

Intermittent Gliding in the Hunting Flight of the Kestrel, Falco tinnunculus L. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The hunting flight of the kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) consists of short bouts of flight at wind speed against the wind with the eyes in a fixed position relative to the ground, and of short flights from one such position to the next.

Flight Mechanics and Control of Escape Manoeuvres in Hummingbirds. I. Flight Kinematics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Hummingbirds are nature’s masters of aerobatic manoeuvres. Previous research shows that hummingbirds and insects converged evolutionarily upon similar aerodynamic mechanisms and kinematics in hovering.

Nonlinear Aeroelastic Effects in Flapping Wing Micro Air Vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes49th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference
16th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference
10t, 2008
A nonlinear aeroelastic model for flapping micro air vehicle wings undergoing prescribed rigid body motion and moderate-to-large flexible deformation is presented. The aeroelastic model is obtained by coupling a nonlinear structural dynamic model based on the MARC code with approximate unsteady aerodynamic loads.

Enhancing Flight Control in Flying Wing UAVs: A Parametric Analysis of Notch Leading Edge Positioning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with flying wing designs offer unique advantages in terms of maneuverability and fuel efficiency, but achieving precise control over these tailless aircraft can be challenging. This study investigates the potential of notch leading edge (NLG) technology to improve the effectiveness of control surfaces in flying wing UAVs.

Clap-and-fling mechanism in a hovering insect-like two-winged flapping-wing micro air vehicle [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2016
This study used numerical and experimental approaches to investigate the role played by the clap-and-fling mechanism in enhancing force generation in hovering insect-like two-winged flapping-wing micro air vehicle (FW-MAV).

Research on Independent Reference Model–Based Anti‐Interference Control for Quadrotor

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The quadrotor is vulnerable to internal model parameters uncertainty and external airflow. In order to guarantee that the quadrotor tracks the reference signal quickly and smoothly under the influence of external airflow interferences and internal parameter uncertainties, an independent reference model–based anti‐interference control algorithm was ...
