Odor–visual and visual–visual matching to sample with dogs

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Volume 126, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract Matching‐to‐sample (MTS) procedures are commonly employed to study learning and behavior, but they have rarely been used with dogs. One MTS procedure that might have applied and experimental value is an odor–visual matching procedure in which selection of a specific visual stimulus is reinforced following exposure to a specific odor.

Effects of wing morphology on flapping-wing aerodynamics

open access: yes, 2017
Flapping flight of biological flyers provides great inspiration for the development of micro air vehicles (MAVs). However, the unsteady aerodynamics of flapping flight is to be clarified before MAVs can rival nature.

Effect of Intranasal Midazolam–Butorphanol Premedication on Sevoflurane Anaesthesia in Traumatised Buzzards (Buteo spp.)

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Intranasal midazolam–butorphanol premedication in traumatised buzzards (Buteo spp.) aims to provide safer sedation by minimising mask induction stress. This method significantly reduces sevoflurane requirements while maintaining stable cardiopulmonary parameters. It is a safe and practical alternative that enhances patient welfare and induction quality.

Analysis of flapping-wing compliant mechanism

open access: yes, 2014
Wing inertia is the mass property that defines the torque needed by flapping-wing creatures to accelerate and decelerate the wings. During flapping flight, flapping-wing Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV) invests inertial power to move the wings due to the ...

A Multispecies Systematic and Critical Review of Intranasal Administration in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Emergency Care: Promising Evidence and Overlooked Challenges

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
This review evaluates the clinical potential and limitations of intranasal (IN) drug administration in veterinary anaesthesia and emergency care. IN delivery can provide clinically relevant sedation, analgesia and drug reversal, but its success is not universally reliable and is strongly influenced by species‐specific anatomy, formulation ...
