Bat Community Composition and Post‐Departure Degradation Patterns of eDNA Shed by Migratory Cave Bats

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 4, July‐August 2026.
This study evaluated airborne environmental DNA (eDNA) as a non‐invasive tool for monitoring the endangered Mexican long‐nosed bat (Leptonycteris nivalis) and other cave‐dwelling bats by examining how eDNA detections persisted after the bats' seasonal departure and varied throughout the cave.

High‐Speed Altitude Regulation With Neuromorphic Camera and Lightweight Embedded Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Neuromorphic cameras deliver rapid, high‐dynamic‐range sensing but overwhelm embedded processors at high speeds. This work presents a lightweight, optimized Lucas–Kanade optical flow method with parallelization, gyroscopic derotation, and adaptive event slicing.

Aerodynamic Characteristics of Airfoils Equipped With Gurney Flaps and Vortex Generators for the Entire Range of Pitch Angles

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT An experimental study of NACA0021 airfoil equipped with vortex generators (VGs) and Gurney flaps (GFs) was conducted to assess the effects of these devices on the aerodynamic airfoil performance, the information that is necessary for studying the self‐starting characteristics of vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs).

Study on the Simulation of Flapping-Wing Aircraft

open access: yes
Based on the research status of flapping-wing aircraft at home and abroad, the overall scheme of bionic flapping-wing aircraft is established in this paper. In the aspect of trajectory planning, the three-dimensional modeling and simulation analysis of bionic flapping-wing aircraft are carried out, and a new flapping-wing mechanism is adopted. Finally,
