THE FLASH FLOODS ANALYSIS, REPRESENTATIVE FOR NIRAJ RIVER BETWEEN 1970-2008 [PDF]

open access: yesAerul şi Apa: Componente ale Mediului, 2011
The flash floods analysis, representative for Niraj River between 1970-2008. The need to know the characteristics of the flash floods is derived from the number and the intensity of floods occurred in the drainage basin of the Niraj river.

Flash-floods control

open access: yesPeriódico Eletrônico Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista, 2021
Flash-Floods are among the hydrological disasters that most damage life and structures in Brazil. The frequency and impacts of flash-floods may become an increasing problem due to the future scenario of an increase in global temperature causing intense precipitation.

Knowledge of, and response to, upland flash flooding: a case study of flood risk management of the 2005 flash flood in upper Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The dangerous hazard posed by flash flooding to upland communities is likely to increase due to climate change. The flood risk management policy approach has become predominant since the 1990s, with an emphasis on the public awareness of, and responses ...

How Competitive Is Myanmar's Rice Sector? A Comparison of Production Costs and Efficiency

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the cost competitiveness of rice production in Myanmar by examining production costs, cost efficiency, and the potential effect of improving cost efficiency on the country's global competitiveness. To achieve this, we conduct a comparative analysis of production costs among major rice‐producing countries and estimate the ...

A case of budding speciation in the California Floristic Province and infraspecific divergence in Abronia villosa

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Budding speciation occurs when peripheral populations adapt to local ecological conditions and “bud” off from a widespread progenitor species. Traditionally regarded as rare because of its sympatric and parapatric nature, budding speciation is largely understudied.

Beyond the Outburst: Charting a New Frontier for Understanding and Treating Irritability in Autistic Adults

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Irritability is a prevalent and impairing feature associated with autism, yet remains poorly understood, particularly in adults. Drawing heavily on insights translated from pediatric and transdiagnostic literatures, we propose that irritability in autistic individuals often reflects a psychophysiological stress or threat response, rooted in a ...

Performance comparison of pressure swing adsorption and amine‐based absorption for synthesis gas purification

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Comparison of PSA and amine‐based absorption for syngas purification shows that PSA offers lower energy intensity, global warming potential, and minimum selling price, making it a more sustainable option. However, absorption achieves higher syngas purity. A GREENSCOPE‐based multi‐criteria assessment guides optimal process selection.
