Modelling the brain response to arbitrary visual stimulation patterns for a flexible high-speed Brain-Computer Interface. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Visual evoked potentials (VEPs) can be measured in the EEG as response to a visual stimulus. Commonly, VEPs are displayed by averaging multiple responses to a certain stimulus or a classifier is trained to identify the response to a certain stimulus ...

Long-Term Follow-Up of a Family with Retinal Dystrophy Caused by RPE65 Mutation

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2023
We present here the case histories of two siblings, a boy and a girl, with Leber’s congenital amaurosis (LCA). The diagnosis was based on non-recordable full-field electroretinogram (ffERG).

Latency-shift of intra-operative visual evoked potential predicts reversible homonymous hemianopia after intra-ventricular meningioma surgery

open access: yesClinical Neurophysiology Practice, 2019
Objectives: Intraoperative visual evoked potentials (VEPs) are used to monitor the function of optic radiation during neurosurgery with the P100 amplitude decrement as a predictor of post-operative visual deficit.

Prognostic value of flash visual evoked potentials in preterm infants

open access: yes, 1999
This paper investigates the prognostic value of flash visual evoked potentials (VEPs) recorded in preterm infants at birth and at term age with respect to severe neurological outcome.

Late Presentation of Hypoxic Injury of Brain in an Infant

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Health Research Council, 2023
Perinatal asphyxia is one of the leading causes of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. In a developing country like Nepal, home delivery is the leading cause of perinatal asphyxia. Neuroimaging remains the diagnostic modality of choice.

Anesthetic effects on electrophysiological responses across the visual pathway

open access: yesScientific Reports
Anesthetics are widely used in electrophysiological tests to assess retinal and visual system functions to avoid experimental errors caused by movement and stress in experimental animals.

Soft and Transient Bioelectronics Enabled by Polymer‐Free Ti3C2Tx MXene Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present Ti3C2Tx MXene hydrogel (MXgel) bioelectronics, a soft, flexible, and fully transient platform for high‐fidelity neural recording and stimulation. MXgel bioelectronics exhibit exceptional electrical conductivities, low electrochemical impedances, and high charge injection capacities.

Protective effects of cerebrolysin in a rat model of optic nerve crush

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
To investigate the effects of cerebrolysin (Cbl) on optic nerves (ON) and retinal ganglion cells (RGC) in a rat model of ON crush. Rats received intravitreal injection of Cbl (n = 20), intra-ON injection of Cbl (n = 20), intraperitoneal injection (IPI ...

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.
