A new flat mite genus, Acaricis (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae), from Australian sedges (Cyperaceae)
Zootaxa, 2009We describe two new species of false spider mite in a new genus, Acaricis gen. nov., collected from native Australian sedges (Cyperaceae). The new genus shares morphological characters with the genera Tenuipalpus Donnadieu and Prolixus Beard, Fan & Walter. All three genera have dorsal opisthosomal seta h2 long and attenuate.

Control of Red and Black Flat Mite on Texas Citrus, 1992
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1993Abstract Chemicals with both acaricidal and insecticidal activity were compared to NR440 spray oil for efficacy against RFM. Treatments were randomly assigned to single tree plots and replicated 8 times in a 4-yr-old commercial grapefruit orchard on 14 X 24 ft spacing.

Seasonal abundance and vertical distribution of mites in flat storage containing wheat
Phytoparasitica, 2006The present study was carried out in a flat storeroom in central Greece, filled with approximately 60 tons of newly harvested wheat, in order to evaluate the population dynamics of stored-product mites and their predators in connection with horizontal and vertical distribution. At 15-day intervals, from July 2000 until March 2001, three replicates were

Distribution and migration of insects and mites in flat storage containing wheat
Phytoparasitica, 2001Studies were conducted in a flat storeroom in central Greece, filled with approx. 90 tons of wheat, in order to evaluate insect and mite species abundance, and changes in population density and distribution among sampling units and locations. The surface of the grain bulk was divided into two sampling zones: the central and the peripheral (edge). At 10-

Citrus Flat Mite Injury Patterns on Some Citrus Varieties
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1968Brevipalpus lewisi McGregor populations exist on all varieties of citrus grown in California. Their feeding may produce scars which subsequently can downgrade the quality of the fruit, except grapefruit, at the packing house. Population levels necessary at various fruit growth stages to cause injury to navel oranges, tangerines, and lemons were ...

Phosphorus Compounds as a Cause of an Increase in Numbers of the Flat Mite
1973Oil sprays as well as fumigation with hydrocyanic gas have long been used as the common means of control against scale insects on different species of citrus trees in Egypt. Applications are usually carried out late fall and winter. During the last few years some phosphorus compounds applied in summer were used for the same reason.
