Exergetic optimization of flat plate solar collectors

Renewable Energy, 2009
In this paper, an exergetic optimization of flat plate solar collectors is developed to determine the optimal performance and design parameters of these solar to thermal energy conversion systems. A detailed energy and exergy analysis is carried out for evaluating the thermal and optical performance, exergy flows and losses as well as exergetic ...

A solar still augmented with a flat-plate collector

Desalination, 2005
A single-stage, basin-type solar still and a conventional flat-plate collector were connected together in order to study the effect of augmentation on the still under local conditions. The still inlet was connected to a locally made, fin-tube collector such that its outlet was fed to the still basin instead of the common storage tank.

ANALYSIS OF A FLAT PLATE SOLAR COLLECTOR

International Journal of Engineering Applied Sciences and Technology, 2022
In the solar-energy industry great emphasis has been placed on the development of "active" solar energy systems which involve the integration of several subsystems: solar energy collectors, heat-storage containers, heat exchangers, fluid transport and distribution systems, and control systems.

The Performance of Flat-Plate Solar Heat Collectors

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1942
Abstract The great magnitude of solar-energy flux on the earth has stimulated a number of attempts at its more effective utilization during the last 60 years. Mouchot (1, 2) and Pifre (3, 2) in France, Shuman (4) in Egypt, Ericsson (5), Willsie (6), Shuman (7), and more recently Abbot (8) in America are but a few of the names associated ...
