Analysis of a flat plate solar collector/storage water heater with evaporation
Energy, 1984Abstract We analyse the performance of a flat-plate collector with a constant rate of evaporation of flowing water between a glass cover and an absorbing plate. The effects of fluid-flow velocity, depth of fluid and length of the absorbing surface are discussed. We have allowed for periodic variation of the solar intensity and ambient air temperature

Design, implementation and testing of a solar water heater glazed flat plate detector
2015 3rd International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC), 2015Solar thermal energy is free and renewable. It can participate in the economy of energy, which therefore contribute to reducing energy costs. We present in this study a solar water heater model with a glazed flat plate detector. This produces hot water using solar thermal energy, which, therefore, could help reduce energy costs.

Electrodeposition of selective coatings based on black nickel for flat-plate solar water heaters
Solar Energy, 2019Abstract The selective coating is the heart of a solar heating system, where the coating needs to efficiently absorb sunlight and heat up the substrate, which subsequently transfers the generated heat to a fluid. Selective coatings generally have an IR reflecting interlayer that maintains low thermal emittance from the substrate in order to optimize ...

Estimation of the energy transfer function of a flat-plate solar water heater system
Solar Energy, 1981Abstract A residentially installed, commercially available flat-plate solar water heater system was instrumented to produce data typical of what might be expected from such systems under conditions of actual use. Input energy was taken to be the measured solar intensity times the collector area and output energy was that collected in the water ...

Steady State Analysis on Efficiency Improving Methods for Series Flat Plate Solar Water Heaters
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Now a day’s different types of solar flat plate collectors are in use. Out of which only few type of collectors proved their performance by producing better results of expected level. In this paper a new set of collectors are combined as mean to improve performance of series SFPC collectors available in market now a days.

Performance Analysis of Flat Plate Solar Water Heater by Changing the Heat Pipe Material
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Heating of water for domestic purpose is simple and effective way of utilizing solar energy. Though the initial cost of solar water heating system is high, the maintenance cost and zero green energy cost. To overcome the problem of high initial cost, this paper suggests utilizing alternative material with very good absorbing efficiency material instead
