Early evolution of the gular musculature and its innervation in ray‐finned fishes

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Gular muscles are an important but often overlooked component of cranial anatomy in bony fishes. They are located on the ventral surface of the head and are derived from the mandibular and hyoid arches. We present a comprehensive review of the gular musculature and its innervation across early diverging actinopterygian lineages. By integrating

Innervation of the tubarial glands: A hypothesis‐driven anatomical review

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The tubarial glands have been described as a macroscopic bilateral glandular complex in the posterolateral nasopharynx near the torus tubarius and the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube. Since their recognition on prostate‐specific membrane antigen‐based imaging, their anatomical classification has remained debated, with converging ...

Total U.S. cost evaluation of low-weight tension-based photovoltaic flat-roof mounted racking

open access: yes, 2015
The economics in the U.S. of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems is changing rapidly as the cost per unit power of PV modules has dropped quickly. These costs reductions have two important results: marked decrease in levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) into

Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

New fossil unveils the dentary anatomy of the rare lepidosauromorph Cargninia enigmatica from the Upper Triassic of Southern Brazil

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Nowadays, Lepidosauria is a diverse group represented by squamates and the rhynchocephalian tuatara. However, their origins date back to the end of the Permian Period, when the stem lineages Lepidosauromorpha and Archosauromorpha diverged. Within the lepidosauromorph stem lineage, a few species have been described with unstable phylogenetic ...

Computed Tomography‐Based Morphometric Analysis Reveals Intercondylar Notch Stenosis and Osteophytes Are Associated With Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

open access: yesArthroscopy, EarlyView.
Purpose To quantitatively assess intercondylar notch morphometrics using 3‐dimensional computed tomography reconstruction, evaluate their association with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in Asian populations, and investigate the prevalence of osteophytes in patients with ACL injury.

PRIMARY STAGE OF PAKIS-STEM-BLOCK SYSTEM AS THERMAL PROTECTIVE TO FLAT BARE CONCRETE ROOFTOP IN TROPICAL CLIMATE OF SURABAYA

open access: yesDimensi: Journal of Architecture and Built Environment, 2011
In the era of global warming and increasing urban heat island condition, flat concrete deck on shop-houses may be less sustainable to handle the excessive solar heat radiation impacts on the roof surfaces.
