Phylogeny of Flavobacteria Group Isolated from Freshwater Using Multilocus Sequencing Analysis [PDF]
Sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA gene has been widely used for the classification of microorganisms. However, we have been unable to clearly identify five Flavobacterium species isolated from a freshwater by using the gene as a single marker, because ...

A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic and rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated HME7524T, was isolated from freshwater of Gyeong-an stream in Korea. A phylogenetic tree based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain HME7524Tformed a distinct lineage within the genusFlavobacteriumand exhibited high sequence similarity withFlavobacterium chungangenseCJ7T(

COLUMNARIS DISEASE IN SHARPTOOTH CATFISH, CLARIAS GARIEPINUS
The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of columnaris disease in wild sharptooth catfish, Clarias gariepinus, in Upper Egypt. Columnaris was detected in 7 (4.86%) fish out of the 144 fish collected indicating light infection.

Pectin Induced Colony Expansion of Soil-Derived Flavobacterium Strains
The genus Flavobacterium is characterized by the capacity to metabolize complex organic compounds and a unique gliding motility mechanism. Flavobacteria are often abundant in root microbiomes of various plants, but the factors contributing to this high ...

Screening of essential oils activity against a gram negative psychrophilic bacterium isolated from aquatic environment (Water & Biofilm) [PDF]
Among the applications of medicinal plants, it is their use as antimicrobial agents. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of some essential oils against an etiological pathogen Flavobacterium spp.

The role of denitrification genes in anaerobic growth and virulence of Flavobacterium columnare
Comparative genomics analyses indicated that the Flavobacterium columnare genome has unique denitrification genes relative to Flavobacterium psychrophilum and Flavobacterium johnsoniae, including nasA (nitrate reductase), nirS (nitrite reductase), norB ...
