Search for associated production of a Z boson with a single top quark and for tZ flavour-changing interactions in pp collisions at s = 8 $$ \sqrt{s}=8 $$ TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
A search for the production of a single top quark in association with a Z boson is presented, both to identify the expected standard model process and to search for flavour-changing neutral current interactions.

Generic one-loop matching conditions for rare meson decays

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
Leptonic and semileptonic meson decays that proceed via flavour-changing neutral currents provide excellent probes of physics of the standard model and beyond.

Flavour-changing neutral current decays of heavy baryons. The case [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics, 1998
We investigate the rare decay which receives both short- and long-distance contributions. We estimate the long-distance contributions and find them very small. The short-distance piece is sensitive to new physics and we discuss the sensitivity of to such effects.

Searches Beyond the Standard Model and Flavour Changing Neutral Currents with top quarks in CMS

open access: yes, 2023
Recent searches for new phenomena with the CMS detector are presented, involving top quarks in a wide range of theories beyond the Standard Model. New resonances are searched for as scalar or pseudo-scalar bosons produced in association with a top quark ...

Predicting the flavour and SUSY flavour structure from grand unified theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) offer an attractive framework for flavour models, since they feature relations between quarks and leptons. Combining them with Supersymmetry (SUSY) and flavour symmetries, we derive predictions for the flavour and SUSY ...

Evaluating GenAI‐produced feedback on undergraduate bioscience essays against good higher education feedback practice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This pilot study investigates the potential of Generative AI to provide formative feedback to students. ChatGPT was prompted to provide feedback on Year 1 Bioscience essays, which were evaluated against established good feedback practices. GenAI‐authored feedback had useful elements, but was limited in scope. GenAI may have potential to provide instant,

Self‐Cleaning Sensor Surfaces for Long‐Term Environmental Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Long‐term use of unattended outdoor sensors without soiling or biofouling is achieved through generation of a micro‐ and nanorough cuvette surface by combing hydrophobic nanoparticles with fluorinated polymers, crosslinked and surface‐attached through CHic chemistry. The coating demonstrates self‐cleaning behavior and prolonged outdoor stability, which

Comprehensive analysis of local and nonlocal amplitudes in the B 0 → K *0 μ + μ − decay

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A comprehensive study of the local and nonlocal amplitudes contributing to the decay B 0 → K *0(→ K + π − )μ + μ − is performed by analysing the phase-space distribution of the decay products.
