Variation of the reactivity of flax fiber cellulose in the course of flax ripening
Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2008Carboxymethyl cellulose ethers were prepared from flax fibers of various degrees of ripeness. The influence exerted by the degree of ripeness of flax fibers on their reactivity in carboxymethylation was examined. The rheological properties of aqueous solutions of the synthesized carboxymethyl cellulose were studied.

Polymer Composites, 2015
In this study, alkali and isocyanate surface modifications were applied to flax fiber (FF) to improve its adhesion to bio‐based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix. In addition to these treatments, isocyanate treated FF was subjected to curing process.

Effect of flax fiber content on polylactic acid (PLA) crystallization in PLA/flax fiber composites
Iranian Polymer Journal, 2017Crystallization of polylactic acid (PLA) has a profound effect on its thermal stability and mechanical properties. However, almost no crystallization occurs in actual injection molding process due to rapid cooling program. In this paper, flax fiber was employed as nucleator to enhance the crystallization capability of PLA. Effects of flax fiber content

Flax and Hemp fiber-reinforced particleboard
Industrial Crops and Products, 2015Abstract The objective of this study was to reinforce particleboard products with natural bast fibers which have high tensile strength and stiffness-to-weight ratios. Three-layered particleboards were manufactured from Wood, Hurd and Shive particle furnish and reinforced in the upper and lower face layers with aligned Flax and Hemp fiber mats ...

Dielectric relaxation phenomena in flax fibers composite
Fibers and Polymers, 2016In this work, a study of the dynamic dielectric analysis of the unidirectional epoxy composite: flax-fibre-reinforced epoxy (FFRE) was investigated. In this composite, three relaxation processes were identified. The first one is the water dipoles polarization imputed to the presence of polar water molecules in flax fiber.

Pilot plant for processing flax fiber
Industrial Crops and Products, 2005Abstract A flax fiber pilot plant is needed to process small samples of flax straw into fibers to facilitate research on retting and fiber properties. Our objective was to develop and test a modular design for a flax processing pilot plant based on a commercial line that was capable of cleaning fiber and seed flax straw from unretted, dew-retted, and
