BIOLOGICAL AND ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE OF ACETYLATED FLAX FIBRE REINFORCED POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITES

open access: yesBioResources, 2009
Flax fibre reinforced polypropylene composites were fabricated using a high speed mixer followed by injection moulding. Prior to composite production, the fibre was modified by acetylation in the presence of perchloric acid.

Actinomycin Derivatives: Structural Diversification and Biological Activities

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Actinomycins are chromopeptide antibiotics exhibiting remarkable structural diversity and broad bioactivity. This review traces their development from naturally occurring D‐, X‐, A‐, G‐, Y‐, and Z‐type analogs to precursor‐directed, synthetic, and semisynthetic derivatives.

Fibre architecture modification to improve the tensile properties of flax-reinforced composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
As far as the tensile properties of natural fibres as reinforcements for composites are concerned, flax fibres will stay at the top-end. However, an efficient conversion of fibre properties into their corresponding composite properties has been a ...

Flexural Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Epoxy Composites Reinforced with Nonwoven Made of Flax Fibres and Recycled Carbon Fibres

open access: yesAerospace, 2018
Can a hybrid composite made of recycled carbon fibres and natural fibres improve the flexural mechanical properties of epoxy composites compared to pure natural fibre reinforced polymers (NFRP)?

Comparative Evaluation of Structure–Processing–Property Relationships in Flax, Hemp, and Cattail Discontinuous fiber Thermoset Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 15, Page 13910-13926, 10 August 2026.
Needle punching reorients fibers from in‐plane direction toward z‐direction of the web, resulting in mechanical interlocking of fibers and reduction in the nonwoven mat thickness. ABSTRACT Replacement of glass fiber mats, utilized in large and complex composite parts in the transportation industry, with natural fiber mats requires knowledge of natural ...

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.
