Simulation of the process stripping harvester for the collection of oilseed flax seeds

Scientific and Technical Bulletin of the Institute of Oilseed Crops NAAS, 2021
The article presents the main results of research on the development of a physical and mathematical model of the technological process of collecting flax seeds with a combing header and the justification of the range of its operating parameters based on software simulation and numerical modeling.

Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc in Southeastern USA Harvested Flax

Crop, Forage & Turfgrass Management, 2015
Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is a winter crop in the southeastern United States that has potential in double cropping systems. This research was conducted to provide estimates of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and Zn removal in the harvested portions of the crop (straw and grain).

Pre-harvest retting of flax with glyphosate — Effects of moisture and microbial colonisation on retting

International Biodeterioration, 1990
Abstract Increasing the frequency of misting of flax plants which had been treated with the herbicide glyphosate also tended to increase the numbers of microbial isolates and increase retting. Fungicides, applied at weekly intervals, suppressed the numbers of fungi but increased the numbers of bacterial isolates; they also decreased retting.

Pre‐harvest retting of flax: effects of water stress on uptake and efficacy of glyphosate

Annals of Applied Biology, 1988
SUMMARYThe effects of water stress on the uptake, translocation and efficacy of glyphosate in flax were investigated in relation to pre‐harvest retting.Glyphosate (applied at a rate equivalent to 1.44 kg a.e. ha‐1 at 0, 10, 20 or 30 days after the start of flowering) caused little desiccation of flax grown in pots under restricted watering.

The quality of combine-harvested fibre flax for industrials purposes depends on the degree of retting

Industrial Crops and Products, 1996
Abstract Modified flax fibres may represent an interesting alternative to wood fibres derived from kraft pulping, being substitutes for asbestos and synthetic fibres. The aim is to produce flax fibres of the same quality as sulphate wood pulp by means of a simple and environmentally correct method and at a competitive price.
