Fatal Flea-Borne Typhus in Texas: A Retrospective Case Series, 1985–2015
American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2017 Flea-borne (murine) typhus is a global rickettsiosis caused by Rickettsia typhi. Although flea-borne typhus is no longer nationally notifiable, cases are reported for surveillance purposes in a few U.S. states.

Oikos, EarlyView.According to the ‘nest protection hypothesis', some passerines incorporate fresh aromatic plants into their nests which reduce pathogens that can negatively affect nestlings. We experimentally evaluated the effect of five aromatic plant species on the nest bacterial microbiota of Corsican blue tits Cyanistes caeruleus.
