Experimental and comparative analysis of masquerade in flea beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

Prey animals employ masquerade to avoid recognition by visual predators by developing a resemblance to inedible objects in their environment. Phytophagous flea beetles seem to resemble models of their own manufacture.
