The Landsman-Reuvers proposal to solve the measurement problem from within quantum theory is extensively analysed. In favor of proposals of this kind, it is shown that the standard reasoning behind objections to solving the measurement problem from within quantum theory rely on counterfactual reasoning or mathematical idealisations.

Biomechanics of jumping in the flea [PDF]
SUMMARY It has long been established that fleas jump by storing and releasing energy in a cuticular spring, but it is not known how forces from that spring are transmitted to the ground. One hypothesis is that the recoil of the spring pushes the trochanter onto the ground, thereby generating the jump.

Insecticide Resistance in Fleas [PDF]
Fleas are the major ectoparasite of cats, dogs, and rodents worldwide and potential vectors of animal diseases. In the past two decades the majority of new control treatments have been either topically applied or orally administered to the host. Most reports concerning the development of insecticide resistance deal with the cat flea, Ctenocephalides ...

Complete convergence theorem for a two level contact process
We study a two-level contact process. We think of fleas living on a species of animals. The animals are a supercritical contact process in $\mathbb{Z}^d$. The contact process acts as the random environment for the fleas.
