Les lipides des poissons d’aquaculture et leurs facteurs de variation

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2010
Fish represent a rich source of the n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), particularly the eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids (EPA and DHA) for the human consumer.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

From Stone to Flesh: Transformation in Michel Henry’s Phenomenology of Life

open access: yesAisthema: International Journal, 2022
Michel Henry radicalizes subjectivity by removing all traces of objectivity and transcendence in order to secure its absolute immanence. He articulates this purification as a flight from the world towards life, which will be analysed here as a ...

Identity and Congruence: The Ethics of Integrity in the Johannine Epistles (Chapter in Biblical Ethics and Application)

open access: yes, 2017
If the Johannine eagle soared above the earth, it did so with talons bared for the fight; and the last writings that were left show the eaglets tearing at each other for the possession of the nest.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

SENSORY AND HEALTH-RELATED FRUIT QUALITY OF ORGANIC APPLES. A COMPARATIVE FIELD STUDY OVER THREE YEARS USING CONVENTIONAL AND HOLISTIC METHODS TO ASSESS FRUIT QUALITY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In a 3 years lasting field study with the ‘Golden Delicious’ cultivar, we compared fruits of 5 pairs of organic/integrated fruit farms. The orchards were similar in microclimate, soil conditions and planting system.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Keeping in Step with the Spirit (Gal 5:25): Godliness as Evidence of God’s Abiding Presence

open access: yesConspectus
There is a growing interest in the person and work of the Holy Spirit in African Christianity. However, although most Christians will agree that the presence of the Holy Spirit in the church is indispensable, the signs of such presence are disputed.
