A flexible service selection for executing virtual services [PDF]
[EN] With the adoption of a service-oriented paradigm on the Web, many software services are likely to fulfil similar functional needs for end-users. We propose to aggregate functionally equivalent software services within one single virtual service, that is, to associate a functionality, a graphical user interface (GUI), and a set of selection rules ...

Design Margins: Impact on Building Energy Performance [PDF]
This paper examines the addition of design margins for building services energy infrastructure during the design process. It argues that care must be taken when applying margins; ensuring cumulative effects do not undermine the ability of systems to be ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Assessment of Optimal Flexibility in Ensemble of Frequency Responsive Loads
Potential of electrical loads in providing grid ancillary services is often limited due to the uncertainties associated with the load behavior. A knowledge of the expected uncertainties with a load control program would invariably yield to better ...

Self-management of context-aware overlay ambient networks [PDF]
Ambient Networks (ANs) are dynamically changing and heterogeneous as they consist of potentially large numbers of independent, heterogeneous mobile nodes, with spontaneous topologies that can logically interact with each other to share a common control ...

Virtualization Management Concept for Flexible and Fault-Tolerant Smart Grid Service Provision
In modern power systems, reliable provision of grid services (e.g., primary and ancillary services) are highly dependent on automation systems in order to have monitoring, processing, decision making and communication capabilities.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Flexible Connections and Flexibility Services
Abstract Distributed energy resource's inherent flexibility can be a significant enabler in facilitating a faster and lower cost connection to the GB system. This chapter introduces the concept of Flexible Connections and how these have helped facilitate the connection of significant volumes of zero carbon generation in GB.
