DC and Flexible AC Transmission Systems
2014Under certain circumstances, it is advantageous to transmit power over a DC transmission line instead of an AC transmission line. DC transmission requires conversion from AC to DC at one end of the transmission line and conversion from DC to AC at the other end of the transmission line.

Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS)
2016Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS): Newton Power-Flow Modeling of Voltage-Sourced Converter-Based Controllers introduces different voltage-sourced converter (VSC)-based FACTS controllers and VSC-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) systems and their working principles, explaining how FACTS controllers exchange real and reactive power with

Vacuum Circuit Breakers in Flexible AC Transmission Systems
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2012This paper shows two applications for using vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) in flexible ac transmission systems in the high-voltage (HV) power grid. This is first a mechanically switched reactor, which is series connected to a thyristor-controlled series compensator in order to enhance the inductive working range.

Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) Controller in Power Transmission
2018Secure and reliable operation of the power system is a critical issue for large, complicated, and interconnected power system networks. Security constraints such as thermal limits of transmission lines and bus voltage limits must be satisfied under any operating point in order to deliver reliable power to the consumers.
