Trajectory Control for Very Flexible Aircraft [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2006
This paper focuses on trajectory control of the 6-DOF body flxed reference frame located on a very ∞exible aircraft. The 6-DOF equations of motion of a reference point on the aircraft are coupled with the aeroelastic equations that govern the geometrically nonlinear structural response of the vehicle.

Simulated pilot-in-the-loop testing of handling qualities of the flexible wing aircraft

open access: yesAviation, 2020
This article aims to indicate the differences between rigid and flexible wing aircraft flying (FQ) and handling (HQ) qualities. The Simulation Framework for Flexible Aircraft was used to provide a generic cockpit environment and a piloted mathematical ...

Flight Training Syllabus Structure Impact on Proactive Planning of High-Performance Military Aircraft Pilot Training Operations in Flexible Airspace Structures

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb), 2022
European airspace is marked by fragmentation, and from fragmentation originated congestion. As an answer to congestion, flexible use of airspace is created to fulfil all users’ requirements optimally, and at its very core lies civil-military cooperation ...

A Substructure Synthesis Method with Nonlinear ROM Including Geometric Nonlinearities

open access: yesAerospace, 2021
Large flexible aircraft are often accompanied by large deformations during flight leading to obvious geometric nonlinearities in response. Geometric nonlinear dynamic response simulations based on full-order models often carry unbearable computing burden.

Force controlled assembly of flexible aircraft structure [PDF]

open access: yes2011 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2011
The use of industrial robots in the aircraft industry has been hampered by a combination of poor accuracy of the robots and poor calibration of the workcell, and also manufacturing variability in composite parts. A way to handle these difficulties is using force control. An experimental case where a semi-compliant rib is aligned to multiple surfaces is

Research on Dynamic Characteristics of Flap Actuation System Considering Joint Clearance and Flexibility

open access: yesMachines, 2022
The flight control effects and flight quality of the aircraft are influenced by the flap actuation system directly. The main motivation of this research is to develop a rigid-flexible model of the flap actuation system with clearance and to explore the ...

A method for flexible aircraft LFT modelling [PDF]

open access: yes2009 European Control Conference (ECC), 2009
This paper presents a method to obtain a Linear Fractional Transformation (LFT) model from a set of numerical flexible aircraft models. The core of the method lies in a polynomial interpolation, but before this step, some cautious treatments must be applied to the numerical models for them to be interpolable.

Investigation of the Effect of a Flapping Propeller on Its Aerodynamic Performance

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This paper focuses on the dynamic effects of flexible propellers on F2 class aircraft models. An oscillating propeller affects an engine’s mechanical performance, and this combination has a huge influence on the model’s flight dynamic performance. In the
