Earth deck antenna providing coverage flexibility

2012 15 International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 2012
Most of Ku-band telecommunications satellites currently in orbit provide a fixed coverage. Enhancing flexibility of GEO satellite antennas is one of the major challenges for new-generation Ku-band payloads. A simple solution to offer (partial) coverage flexibility is to design a passive reconfigurable antenna, with switchable shaped beams.

Novel flexible antenna for UWB applications

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2015
In this paper a novel flexible and compact Ultra Wide Band is presented. The proposed antenna is made using a 0.1 mm thick flexible substrate with size 75 × 18 mm2. The proposed antenna can serve as a wearable human hand-band for UWB applications. The almost typical radiation pattern with moderate gain is preserved over the operating bandwidth.
