Design and development of low-profile polymer based broadband antenna for on-body applications

open access: yesResults in Engineering
A compact, low profile, geometrically simple, flexible, and wideband antenna is presented for future on-body applications. A circular patch antenna is loaded with multiple arc-shaped stubs to obtain an ultrawideband of 3.7–6.25 GHz.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Bending Characteristic of a Flexible Antenna [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science, 2011
In this paper, we studied characteristics of the bent antenna febricated on Flexible-PCB. Flexible-PCB consisting of a polyimide has dielectric constant 3.5, thickness 0.125 mm. Proposed antennas which operates at Bluetooth band are a rectangular loop antenna and a loop antenna with inverted-L type stub.

SAR Flexible Antenna Advancements: Highly Conductive Polymer-graphene Oxide-silver Nanocomposites

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research M
: In the past, copper served as the material for conductive patches in antennas; however, its usage was constrained due to high costs, susceptibility to fading, bulkiness, environmental sensitivity, and manufacturing challenges. The emergence of graphene

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
